Parents protesting against a controversial decision to make a headteacher redundant are calling on the school academy trust’s CEO to resign.
Members of the Swinford Parents and Carers Group are campaigning for Edy O’Connor, former head of Swinford C of E Primary School, in Swinford, near Lutterworth, to be reinstated.
He was made redundant earlier this month by the Diocese of Leicester Academies Trust (DLAT) amid plans to install a new ‘executive head’ covering Swinford and another school as part of a new business model.
Supporters say trust CEO Donna Moulds should follow four non-executive directors who quit this week following a meeting with the Right Reverend Martyn Snow, Bishop of Leicester.
