The school governing body has recently started an academy consultation in order to decide whether to convert Parrs Wood High School in south Manchester to a multi academy trust. The consultation ends on the 7th December 2015.  It means the school, which is one of the most oversubscribed secondaries in Manchester, could move away from local authority control to form its own independent academy trust. The school would convert adopting the Co-op model.
