Parents are preparing to hold a protest in a bid to disband the governing body at a school as it bids to become an academy.
The Interim Executive Board of governors (IEB) at Stamshaw Junior School announced plans to become an academy with Portswood Primary Academy in Southampton as its sponsor.
But many parents are angry at the lack of consultation and feel they are left with many unanswered questions. They want the process to be started again from scratch.
Kevin Whittle, 34, from Childe Square in Stamshaw, said: ‘The IEB needs replacing. What we want to try and push for is to get the whole thing redone and get something decent for our school.
‘Everybody knows that we need better for our school but there’s a right way and a wrong way and I think we are being pushed into something that nobody really wants.’
