Tweets from today’s National Governors Association NGA conference suggest that Stephen Twigg, Shadow Secretary of State for Education, in a marked shift in policy has announced that a Labour government would allow academies to convert back to local authority schools and that once again, local authorities will be allowed to open community schools where they are needed. The AAA welcomes this common-sense approach as good news for parents, pupils, teachers and taxpayers alike.
