Connaught school for girls governors lobby

Over one hundred parents, teachers and supporters lobbied the governing body of Connaught School for Girls in Walthham Forest  on Wednesday 12 December  to  oppose the school becoming an academy.

Teachers at the school have taken ten days strike action to oppose the change and will take more action in the new year. They have been striking for two days a week.

The governing body voted by 10 votes to 5 to go ahead with converting to an academy.
