30 Heanor Gate Science College –
Heanor and Loscoe Town Council understand that the Governors of Heanor Gate Science College have decided to apply for Academy Status for the School. The Council are extremely concerned that:
1. No serious or wide-ranging consultation with the community has taken place
2. There will be a threat to the future of secondary school provision for the families of Heanor and its wider community.
The following resolution was proposed by Councillor Janes, seconded by Councillor Mrs C Cox:-
Heanor and Loscoe Town Council calls on the Governors of Heanor Gate Science College to reconsider the decision to adopt Academy Status in the interest of future generations of Heanor and its wider community.
A unanimous vote was taken in favour of the resolution.
