How many schools have become Academies?

If you listen to Michael Gove or the press you could be forgiven for thinking that the majority of our schools had become academies.

Unfortunately for Gove facts are stubborn things.

There are approximately 19,000 Primary and Secondary schools in England. The graph below shows the percentage which are academies, and the percentage which are not.

We have plenty to do to save our education system, but you can see from the graph that there is still plenty to save.
